Is there an alternative to salon lashes? - Dose of Lashes

Is there an alternative to salon lashes?

No appointments available at the salon?

Ghosted by your fave lash tech?

Or maybe you can’t afford spenny lash extensions at the moment?

Don’t cry hun, it’s no biggie.

Here at Dose of Lashes, not only are we the official home of salon alternatives, we’re also a bit of an expert on how to make lashes look longerwithout extensions.

So dry those eyes 😢 – your tears will only make them red and puffy. Read our tips and tricks, treat yourself to some of our game-changing lash clusters, and achieve the same (if not better!) results at home – for a fraction of the price you’d usually pay.

No salon, no problem

Here’s how to get pro-level results, sans the pro.

  1. DIY lash clusters

Who needs a lash tech anyway? 💁‍♀️

With our eyelash cluster kits, you can 100% do the job yourself.

Crafted from premium fibres, all of our DIY lash clusters are the same quality as you’d get at the salon. Plus they’re super easy to apply (even for a novice). It takes 10 mins max. At the end of which, you’ll have created a stunning lash extension look – that’s long, voluminous, fluttery, curled to perfection and difficult to tell apart from professional clustered extensions.

The best bit?

They don’t cost anywhere near as much as a three-hour sesh with a beautician.

Currently available for £12.50 a box, Lemme Lashes work out at just 9p per cluster per wear. And as long as you apply them correctly (just follow our simple step-by-step guide), they won’t budge for at least 7 days or more – and you can re-use them up to three times.

Disaster officially averted.

  1. Strip lashes

Don’t want to state the obvious – but if you can’t get in at the salon, you could just use our strips. They’re another fantastic alternative to lash extensions.

Yeah, you have to take them off at the end of the day. But as they’re made using exclusive UNYQTM technology, they’re ultra-fine and lightweight – yet also incredibly long, fluffy and voluminous. So they look just like lash extensions and regularly get mistaken for the real thing.

Russian salon-style lashes are our faves. But we also have a selection of 3D luxury lashes, 6D luxury lashes, 3D faux lashes and half lashes to choose from. And no matter which style you go for, they’re easy to apply (courtesy of our 2in1 DreamLiner) and can be re-used 30+ times.

Which means, you can create the same stunning salon look day after day, and will be repeatedly asked that inevitable question: “Who’s your lash tech babe? Your lashes look insane!”.

  1. TLC

Prefer to give your natural lashes a little boost?

Some proper love and care can defo help.

Plenty of dubious DIY remedies can be found online, such as bathing them with lemon juice (ouch!), coating them with Vaseline (eww), “massaging” the lash line (seriously?), etc.

Maybe you’ve tried a few of these already? There’s no judgement from us. But these methods aren’t scientifically proven, and when it comes to your eyes, we don’t recommend any risky experimentation.

To make your lashes look longer and thicker, all you really need to do is keep them hydrated – perhaps with the help of a moisturising product such as coconut oil or aloe vera gel. Invest in a gentle makeup remover. And eat a healthy diet, full of vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids. i.e. look up a few ‘salmon and kale’ recipes.

Green tea is also believed to be a bit of a miracle worker. Rich in antioxidants, vitamin B and EGCG (a compound known to stimulate hair growth), it’s said to encourage the production of naturally healthy, longer lashes. To test it out, simply apply it (once cooled) to your lashes using a cotton pad… or, alternatively, you could just make a nice brew once or twice a day?

  1. The lash curler

Whichever lash extension alternative you settle on – whether you opt for individual cluster lashes, strip lashes or just go au naturale – an eyelash curler should be your new BFF.

It may look like something you’d find at the dentist, but honestly, it’s actually pretty easy to use. And it’s specifically designed to prep the natural lashes (for falsies or mascara) and create an elevated, full-fanned look – reminiscent of what you’d get at the salon.

Here at Dose of Lashes, we’re a bit in love with our ProLash Curler.

Non-crimping and fitted with a specialised comb attachment, it guides your individual lashes into a stunning curled position – with a single squeeze – and delivers a precise lift along the entire curve of the lash line. Plus it’s pink. What more could a girl want?

Ready to try our lash extension alternatives?

What did we tell you? Salon appointment or not, there’s no need to cry. In fact, just delete your lash tech’s number now babe. You won’t be needing that again.

We have the best alternatives to lash extensions on the market. So good, we guarantee, nobody will ever notice the difference. And whether you opt for lash clusters or strip lashes, taking the DIY route will save you a lot of precious time, money and heartache.
